Without doubt, as you may have read or heard before, using renewable energy has several advantages, ranging from environmental aspects economic, moral to the purely technical aspects, with its challenges, of course. Among all the advantages that I will consider those who may have an influence on a large scale in our lives all around the world. The extraction efficiency and the echo of usability are the things I want to emphasize on, and we'll compare renewable and nonrenewable energy in three dimensions.
Extraction
Or better said not all extraction requirements.
In fact, renewable resources like wind, solar, tidal energy does not require extraction process and are the most common resources of the planet Earth. That means no danger to people, safe environment and not high input of energy to arrange.
Geothermal and hydropower facilities need special and may have environmental impact, but much less than regular resources listed below and in general the process is much easier.
Instead of having our regular (or what we call ordinary) energy resources like oil, coal, uranium, etc., we need to make great efforts to find, retrieve and move. Then using special facilities, they are transformed into electrical energy useful. As you can see, there are at least three steps before you have what we need. In each of these steps, a high energy intake is required to achieve our results. The extraction of these "ordinary" energy resources, with a high energy input, is also a great danger to those involved in the process, which usually brings devastating consequences for the environment.
Needless to say, At first glance, the comparison of extraction aspect of renewable versus "ordinary" energy resources, the benefits are clear, but consider more.
Effectiveness
When it comes to efficiency if the benefits from the implementation systems that exploit renewable energy resources are amazing. A wind generator, a machine simple enough to transform the wind into electricity May convert up to 50% of global wind power, solar panel converts up to 60% (in cells of new generation) of the global solar energy it collects. Even with lower yields, such as we have for tidal power plants (up 30%), it is not bad, considering the total absence of risk to human health and the environment. Exploiting less than 0.02% of total solar energy that reaches Earth each day would be sufficient to meet our (world) demand for energy instead of power ordinary use coal or oil as fuel efficiency and which does not exceed 25%. Not a good performance indeed!
Let's go further and analyze just what happens on the environment.
Echo-friendly
When using resources renewable, we need not look, we do not need to extract, we do not even need to carry any fuel around the world, nor have we any special, clean and central complicated to exploit.
Tidal, hydro, wind and energy Solar can be easily found and converted into electricity directly from these basic machines. When no mining or extraction is necessary, two things happen: a lot of money is saved and a lot of destruction is avoided. Using simple power plants, such as those used for Hydro tidal, wind and solar power, a step is omitted in the process of energy conversion (combustion) thus improving energy efficiency is achieved and not all pollutants are emitted, and not even 1 gram of CO2.
Not the same thing for regular resources, plants, mining or extraction causes pollution and wasted energy, and the transportation is. The power needed to burn fuels are more complex and horribly expensive. In the process of transformation of 75% energy is wasted continuously and as if this were not enough, thousands of tons of CO2 and a dozen other poisons are issued annually by a single central.
Extraction of needs in relation to any needs extraction, with all the consequences, low efficiency higher versus efficiency, pollution from the echo-friendliness are our main points of comparison between non-renewable sources and renewable, but, besides these, there are several others.
