How much water should you drink each day?
Water is absolutely essential to our organization which comprises about 75% water, brain is 85%, 90% of blood, lungs 90%, muscles 75%, kidney 82% and even bone is 22%. Basically, we made of water!
Water dissolves many valuable nutrients, minerals and chemicals in biological processes and transports in different parts of our body. Carbohydrates and proteins that our bodies use as food are metabolized and transported by water in the bloodstream. The water is equally important in the transport of waste and toxins from our body. Without the replenishment of freshwater, our body does not work, begin to wither, and finally collapse. An adult loses about 2.5 liters of water daily through perspiration, respiration, and elimination (urine and feces), and when the body loses 5% of its total water volume, symptoms of dehydration such as thirst, unexplained fatigue, irritation, dark urine, begin to appear.
The consequence of inadequate consumption of water can be devastating to our bodies. The cells will begin to draw water from the blood, causing the heart to work harder. At the same time, when the kidneys can not clean the blood effectively due to insufficient water, the liver and other organs have to work harder in placing it under additional stress. Water loss continues over time will accelerate the aging, but increase the risk of disease and health problems such as constipation, dry and itchy skin, acne, nosebleeds, urinary tract infection, cough, sneezing, sinus pressure and headaches.
So how much water should you drink each day? How much water is enough for you? The minimum amount of water you need depends on our body weight. Generally, two pounds of body weight, one ounce of water is necessary. So if you are 60kg, you should drink about 2 liters of water each day.
